On October 29, 2010, members of the World Youth Parliament in New York City attended the Friday evening prayer service at the Islamic Cultural Center of New York. Following the evening prayer Imam Mohammed Shamsi Ali met with the World Youth Parliament members, answering questions and sharing his Islamic faith with them. Pjeter Nilaj, a WYP member from the Bronx shared that, “Dialogue with persons of various faiths is what will bring us all closer together. Our Magna Carta of Values is a document that shares the common values of young people of various creeds, faiths, and nationalities. Encouraging others to also live by these common values will bring change to the world.” Imam Shamsi Ali admired the group’s effort to reach out to people of all faiths. In February, the group plans to meet with the members of the Focolare Movement, where they plan to share their Magna Carta of Values for a New Civilization.
